Today we replaced a small metal roof on a Gold Coast home. The roof had reached the end of its life - it was rusted and aged. Alongside this, the metal roof sheets were corrugated, which are designed for roofs with a minimum 5 degree pitch. This roof had minimum pitch, so the corrugated roof sheets were not ideal to maximise water run off. The result was that they had a lot of water back flowing into the roof cavity and causing dreaded roof leaks and internal mould issues. The solution was to replace the roof with Metroll's Trimclad roof sheeting which are designed for roofs with minimal pitch. The larger span allows for more water run off. We also installed a custom flashing between the tiled roof and metal roof so no water can continue to backflow into the roof cavity.
