We recently carried out some work at a commercial building at Underwood, in Brisbane's southside. The building had many roof leaks, caused by a poorly sealed skylight, badly rusted roof sheets and a rusted box gutter. We replaced the box gutter and roof sheets and replaced the skylight with a new roofsheet. We then experienced a few days of heavy rain and the customer has confirmed that they have not had a roof leak. Another great outcome by the team!

We recently did a job at Eagle Heights, in the beautiful Mount Tamborine Gold Coast hinterland. The customer had a decromastic roof, which is a metal product manufactured in the 1970's. It is renown for being trouble in heavy rain, as the roof sheets often warp, bend and lift with weather conditions over the years. This roof in particular had been damaged by hail, leaving dings in the roof sheets and lifted sections of bent roof sheets. The customer wanted to modernise their home as well as fix the ongoing roof leak issues they were experiencing - so we underwent a complete metal reroof in the Colorbond colour 'WIndspray'. The end result looked fantastic and the home owners were thrilled knowing their Colorbond roof came with a 30 year product guarantee warranty. If you are interested in finding out more about the cost of a reroof for your home and what it involves, please feel free to contact us Yesterday we undertook some cement tile roof repairs that were covered by insurance. The insured had approximately 20 broken tiles on their roof and cracked and wind damaged pointing to their ridge caps. This damage was caused by severe weather - high winds had cracked and blown out the concrete mortar from their ridge caps and debris landing on their roof had broken several roof tiles. A tarp was placed on their roof temporarily to stop any water entry until their Insurance claim was processed and approved. The Insurance company asked Master Roofing to fix the storm damages to ensure that the property was watertight once again and back it its original state. Luckily the home owner was insured, as there was significant internal damage to the home as a result of the roof not being watertight. The whole ceiling in the living room had 'dropped' and as you can see from the picture below as a result of simply some small tile issues. Many roofs over time require maintenance to keep them in shape and watertight. If you notice any water marks or dampness on your ceiling, contact us today, before the damage gets any worse! Your roof protects your biggest asset - your home, so ensure you look after it. The owner of this home liked their roof colour, but wanted it to be high pressure cleaned and then sealed, to ensure no dirt and grime and build-up on the roof tiles again. The photos are evidence of the amazing results you can achieve when high pressure cleaning a roof. It is important though to reseal it after, to provide a 'film' so that mould, dirt and grime cannot easily build-up on the roof tiles again. ![]() Overflowing Leafs in Gutter This home is surrounded by trees and constantly has to have its gutters cleaned to prevent water overflow into the outdoor living space. The overflow of water has previously caused damage timber, ceilings and furniture, which is costly. As you can see from the image, the leaf build-up on this home is quite severe. With many overhanging trees, the maintenance required to maintain leaf free gutters is constant and costly! The owner of this home wanted to install gutter guard, feeling that the costs of constantly having the gutters cleaned outweighed the cost of installing gutter guard and never having to clean them again! The gutter guard was specifically sourced through Leaf Shield Gutter Protection, to suit Trimdek roof sheets. We were also able to colour match the gutter guard so it matches the roof sheets and is appealing to the eye. Contact us today for a quote on a gutter clean and installation of Leaf Shield Gutter Protection. ![]() High Pressure Cleaning the Cement Tiles This home had experienced hail damage to their cement roof tiles and rear awning. They were able to claim the damages on their home insurance policy to have the tiled roof repaired and restored and the awning roof sheets replaced. The main tile roof had hail damage to the tiles and paint work. We changed the broken tiles, high pressure cleaned the roof and applied roofing membrane in Shieldcoat colour 'Ironstone'. ![]() The new 'Paperbark' Lysaght Flatdek roof sheets The existing rear awning was a Lysaght Flatdek roof which was hail damaged in the storm. We replaced the roof sheets to match the existing ones in the colour 'Paperbark'. ![]() A 'Before' photo of the roof This customer was experiencing roof leaks to their aged cement tiled roof and maintenance issues with the tiles and flashings. As you can see from the photo there is a recent extension and the colour of the tiles also did not match the existing ones. On inspection we found there was several leak issues and repaired the following: - Replaced broken tiles - Repointed ridge caps as the existing mortar had become porous and cracked - Installed valley seal, so stop a backflow of water entering the roof cavity - Reflashed areas around the tv antenna and flue pipe We then high pressure cleaned the roof, applied primer and two coats of roofing membrane in Shieldcoats 'Silver Screen' The customer wanted a contrast between the dark rendered walls and the roof, so chose a lighter colour. |
